The investment objective of the Fund is long-term capital appreciation. The fund invests in issuers that are likely to benefit from economical, political, structural and technological developments in the countries of the Caribbean Basin. The Fund may invest at least 80% of its total assets in a broad range of issuers, including U.S. based companies, which engage in substantial trade with and derive substantial revenues from operations in the Caribbean Basin countries. Equity securities of public and private companies that may be purchased by the fund consist of common stock, convertible and non-convertible preferred stock, debt with equity warrants and unattached warrants.
